2. Website delivery and hosting

The website is provided through OpenAI Sites. When a page is requested, technically necessary connection data may be processed, including IP address, date and time, requested address, browser and device information, and technical error data.

This processing serves the secure, stable and reliable delivery of the website. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the secure and dependable operation of this service.

3. Cookies, local storage and analytics

The library uses no analytics, marketing or advertising cookies, operates no proprietary audience measurement and creates no usage profiles. It therefore does not display a consent banner.

To defend the website against automated malicious traffic, Cloudflare's delivery infrastructure sets the strictly necessary __cf_bm security cookie. It contains encrypted information used for bot detection, is limited to this website and expires after 30 minutes of inactivity. It is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. Access to the device is based on section 25(2)(2) TDDDG; where personal data is processed, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

The visitor's chosen colour mode is saved in the browser's local storage under kleine-welten-theme. The only stored value is light or dark. It is not transmitted to the operator, remains until browser data is cleared and is necessary to retain the expressly selected display across pages.

If analytics, embedded media or other non-essential technologies are added later, they will be activated only after voluntary consent. Rejecting and accepting would be equally easy; the passage of time would never be treated as consent.

4. Online reader

Turning pages, zooming and switching the book language does not require a form or a user account. These controls operate in the browser. The operator does not use automated decision-making or profiling.

5. Shop and Payhip

The support buttons are ordinary external links. Data is transferred to Payhip only after a person clicks a link and leaves this website.

During a purchase, Payhip processes contact, order and technical data. Payment information is handled by the payment providers used there. Where the operator receives order information to fulfil the contract, assist with downloads or meet legal retention duties, processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR.

6. Retention

Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary for its purpose or for as long as legal retention duties apply. Technical logs are deleted or anonymised according to the hosting provider's rules. Order and invoice records may be subject to statutory tax and commercial retention periods.

7. Data subject rights

Subject to the legal requirements, individuals may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection. Consent may be withdrawn at any time with future effect.

Individuals also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision is generally responsible for private-sector organisations based in Bavaria.

8. Children and families

The books are also intended for children, but the website deliberately does not request information from children. Purchases in the external shop should be made by adults.

9. Changes to this notice

This privacy notice will be updated when the website, its services or the applicable legal requirements change.
